Have you read our leaflet "How to not fear death"?

It is A5 sized, and folds to A6. Here is the wording:

The front:

Are you afraid of death? Why do we all die? & How to not fear death....

The inside and back:

Perhaps you have not experienced much by way of death in your life. But the reality is, it comes after every one of us. 10 out of 10 us will die.

No matter how hard we prepare or seek to avoid it, it will still visit us with utter devastation.

But why do we all die? Where can we find the answer?

Death is the wages of sin according to God’s Word, the Holy Bible. When our time is up here on earth, we will receive that wage (see Romans Chapter 6, specifically verse 23).

What is sin? Sin is the breaking of God’s law “sin is the transgression of the law” (1 John 3:4). When you have lied “Lying lips are abomination to the Lord” (Proverbs 12:22). When you have stolen “Thou shalt not steal.” (Exodus 20:15). When you misuse God’s Holy Name “the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh His name in vain.” (Exodus 20:7) In fact, He knows your secret sins “God shall judge the secrets of men” (Romans 2:16). If you are honest and listen to your God given conscience, you have to admit your guilt. Death exists as a consequence for our sinful lifestyle. It demonstrates how serious God is about sin.

Imagine someone loans you an expensive car, but all you do is mistreat it with contempt to the one who loaned it to you. The owner would surely seek the return of their car. In a similar way, your life is a precious gift from God. He will only allow you to abuse that gift for a time.

The consequence of sin does not stop at physical death. “it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” (Hebrews 9:27) “all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8). “punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord” (2 Thessalonians 1:9).

How to not fear death

God has not left us without a way of escape. But it is not by doing any good works ourselves. The Good News (Gospel) is, Jesus Christ - God in the flesh - He came into the world 2000 years ago. He lived the perfect life - demonstrating His divinity through countless miracles. Willingly He suffered the cruelest death imaginable, nailed to a cross. It was so severe, that “there was darkness over the whole land” (Mark 15:33) - for three hours. Jesus took the punishment deserved for all who would call upon His Name and be saved. He rose again from the grave - conquering sin and death three days later. The mercy you need is available only in that work Jesus did - paying the fine for lawbreakers. “God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself” (2 Corinthians 5:19).

Please - “Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.” (Isaiah 55:6-7)

Jesus said “the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the Gospel.” (Mark 1:15). “God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) If you will call upon His Name, He will give you a new heart (being born again) that will love Him and live a new life to serve Him and enjoy Him forever - this is what you were made for.

You will then discover no fear in death. Once in a right relationship with God, through Christ - He will welcome you into heaven when you die. A free gift, in spite of a life of rebellion.

Amazing undeserved Grace!

His blessings amazingly do not end there. He will give every born again Christian help in every part of their life - when times are very difficult and when they are not. He promises He “will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” (Hebrews 13:5).

You could die and end up in hell today! “behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”

(2 Corinthians 6:2).

Please do not be swallowed up in death without Christ as your Saviour. There will be no second chance. You must put your trust in Jesus for salvation alone and not yourself.

How to call upon the Lord for salvation:

Humbly ask the Lord to forgive you of your sins (through prayer). Confess your sins to Him - call upon Him to cleanse you by the blood of Jesus. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shall be saved" (Acts 16:31). God is Plenteous in mercy to all that call upon Him (see Psalm 86:5) “him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out.” (John 6:37).

"Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. " (James 4:8).

God has given you His Word, the Holy Bible, to know Him - “These things have I written unto you that believe on the Name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the Name of the Son of God.”

(1 John 5:13).

Read the Gospel of John in the Bible to see what the Lord Jesus Christ has done.

"Thanks be unto God

for his unspeakable gift"

(2 Corinthians 9:15).
