Our Bible flyer "A gift is awaiting your collection" Has the appearance of a delivery card. Especially when it is hanging from the inside of a letterbox. It is highly likely therefore to be read by the person who receives it.
It is an A5 thick flyer so that it survives some of the challenging of letterboxes.
The front cover challenges the reader to answer life's important questions. "Are you saved?" and "Where will you spend eternity?" It also challenges them to examine themselves in the light of God's law. This acts as a schoolmaster to lead them to the understanding of why they need Jesus (See Galatians 3:24-27).
Then on the back of the flyer, it underlines that none of our good works will be of any use when we stand before God. From the bad news, it then moves on to the good news. Under the title "Is there any hope?
It reads as follows:
Yes there is! Imagine you are in a courtroom for the worst crime
you can imagine and the judge finds you guilty, and because he’s just,
he gives you the death penalty. Then someone steps in whom you’ve
never met before and says, ‘I will die in your place.’
Your penalty has been paid, so justice has been served and you are
free to go!!
2000 years ago God became a man: Jesus Christ, who was born
of a virgin, led a perfect life and then suffered and died hanging on a
cross to pay the penalty in full for all who trust in Him with their lives.
Then three days later He rose from the grave in triumph over all the
powers of death and darkness, so that in Him we can have forgiveness
of sins and eternal life in heaven. To receive forgiveness, Jesus said:
“except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish” Repentance means
turning fully away from your lifestyle of rebellion against God and
trusting in Jesus Christ ALONE to save you from hell; trusting in Him as
the One who willingly stood in your place of punishment, taking God’s
wrath for you; the wrath YOU deserve.
What are you waiting for? Call out to God to save you today! He will give
you a new heart (being born again).
“Seek ye the LORD while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near:
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let
him return unto the LORD, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God,
for He will abundantly pardon.” Is 55:6-7 “God commendeth his love toward us,
in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8.
